In Thailand, Betagen is known as the brand name for a fresh and healthy dairy product. As a probiotic yoghurt drink in a bottle or as yoghurt in a cup, Betagen is a well known concept among the Thai population. In recent years, sales of the yoghurt and yoghurt drink have grown so sharply that a master plan was needed to manage the increasing production.

Martin Humfeldt, Operations Director at Betagen explains ‘We’ve made a number of investments in recent years and the programme will continue until 2015. We are building a new factory just for the probiotic yoghurt and drinks. In addition, a lot of hard work is going into improving our production. This will enable us to meet all the modern hygiene, quality, environmental and safety standards.’

Utumporn Bamrungsak, Warehouse Manager at Betagen, is pleased with all the changes. ‘We had too little capacity to maintain production. We regularly had to halt the production lines because we didn’t have enough processing and storage capacity’
